My last day of work for this week :) i shouldn't complain i only work 3 days a week - but man is it hard getting into a routine - the house is trashed! Ok its not but to me who has a mini neat freak obsession it is.. my cleaning day is a Friday which used to be Miles' day care day and i would put Greta down for her nap and i would clean while she slept - she still sleeps for 4 or 5 hours a day so i always have time to get the house work done but then have to do the vacuuming and the mopping while she is awake - cant vac with Miles at home as he has an issue with the high pitched noises that they make so can't be in the house when its on. Its a pretty big house,4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 living areas plus 1 dining room and 1 meals room and set on a decent bit of land too - so it so easy task cleaning it!
Anyway ive come home tonight and said i just have to clean it - and made DH help me haha - so just waiting till little ones are fast asleep, they've been in bed since 6.30pm so give them another 15 mins then we will start!
Kids had a good day at their nanny's house today - Miles (for the 2nd time this week) cried when we went to collect him as he had such a lovely day he didnt want to come home did the same yesterday and screamed all everning till bed time - it was bloody hard work with him yesterday - but better today.
So i took a container of leftovers i had for Greta in the freezer and she had that for dinner so that worked well... Was a bit odd getting them home and not eating with them.. normal for Jonathan as he gets home late 5 nights a week anyway so i leave his meal on a plate and he eats about 8pm or whenever he gets in - anway it was a bit odd tonight as im used to eating with the kids, i think its important to eat with them to teach them manners and social skills and how to sit at the table and its just nice the 3 of us sitting and eating together so i got home and stuck the stir fry on that i had left to marinate all day and i served them some up too :0) so they had double dinne tonight haha .. it just felt wrong eating without them - Miles actually asked for 2nds !
I'll try not to make a habit out of it though - perhaps i should wait on those 2 nights and not cook our evening meal till the kids have gone to bed - be nice to sit down and eat with Jonathan, as we only sit together on a weekend when he is home early enough to be there when the 3 of us eat.
Erm what else... oh the pay it forward - i managed to track down the item i wanted on-line so thats good.. when it arrives i will get on with making them with the kids.. they should enjoy helping me make them. Its a great idea, we make a gift for someone and then send it to them and someone else makes a gift for us and sends it to us - really great idea :)
Think im going to take Miles on the train tomorrow - blurrrrrrrrrrr public transport! but he has been nagging to go on a train for weeks now so he will love it im sure..
I tried tell him about the Disney on ice thing but he was so grumpy at leaving his friends house he just wanted to stay there and play all night i think! So he didnt seem to care - i will tell him again tomorrow, sure he will be so excited after a full nights sleep.
Work - well its getting better. Im working with a bunch of Engineers and getting my head around thier jargon and all these complex sums is hard work - ive got one of them to write all the calcs down on each PO for me which is bad i know! i really need to work out how to do the figures myself - thankfully my hubby is a major boffin so i have asked for his help and he has assisted and i think i get it more now.
Trying also to get them to give the work up is hard as the admin manager left a couple yrs ago now so they have had to do the paperwork themselves and become quite attached to it so trying to get them hand id over and never look back lol is hard - but im getting there slowly, ive got a couple of things from them that i think they have handed over now - also hard as im new and not sure what tasks im meant to be doing etc anyway im getting there and its a nice environment and less than a 20 min drive fom home and only 6 mins from their nanny's house.
Jonathan is still looking for another job as he's a bit fed up with being the manager and wants to travel more - as ive said in other posts so see how he goes with that - im sure there will be work in QLD with these terrible floods..
Anyway im playing Words with Friends on the iphone with a couple of the girls from my EB group so best go and take my turn :) its becoming addictive !
Oh and the house work too - all for now.
