Good day at the office!

And i actually mean a good day at the office! I used to joke to Jonathan that looking after the kids full time is my day job and he;s ask if i had a good day at the office - meaning being home with the kids all day.. but as i went back to work (part time) last month i actualyl mean i had a good day at the office.

Had a good chat with the MD or Executive Managing Director as he calls himself... and got a good idea of what they need me to do - i was a bit overshelmed at first as i thought they wanted me to change so much of the way the office ran - and they do to an extend but only the actual office party of it not the entire compnay.. i was about to come back after the christmas break and say look if you want me to shake up this entire company then i want more than you are paying me and i really dont think a part time admin chick can do that its more an MD role - but they are looking to employ a new MD into the place to that and just want me to sptreamline the actual office procedures and set procedures in process and cut back on the double ups and just make the office flow better as well as take on lots of the admin work the managers are doing - i can do that so all good.

Felt like i contributed today rather than just being in the way - so all good.. im getting a handle on the sysems and the purchase ordering and the invoices and accounts so all goo.. Getting my desk into order as well as there wa paperwork everywhere and i like order and everything in its place - just getting my head around the volume an USD v AUD and all the documentation to sending all these parts and powders overseas  and working with a bunch of engineers they are all boffins so talk in code a lot- anyway im getting there :)

kids had an awesome time at their nanny's house - and they will go to her house again on Friday when i go to work - usually she will come to us, but her husband who works for Qantas (another engineer!!!) in in France so she wanted me to take the kids there as its easier for her while he is away - so not a problem.

So list for this week:

monday - went to the beach with the kids at Mosman
tuesday - work / kid went to their nanny's
Wednesday - Rouse hill shopping
Thursday - work/ nanny for kids
Friday - work / nanny for kids.

its easier going to work knowing they kids are happy with their nany.. Miles almost runs out the house in  a morning eager to get to her house and play with her daughter - Greta has a little trear or two when i hand her over but is over it before i even close the front door - its hard but needs must.. id rather be home with them both till Miles starts school and Greta is at preschool - but another 2 yrs and that will be happening.

I cooked a yummy lasagna yesterday for dinner tonight so just off to warm that up :) just waiting on Jonathan getting home from work.

Miles went to bed with no story tonight - hate it but he was quite naughty and spoke to me in a very aggressive mannar and then started screaming when i asked him to appologise and think how mean it is to speak to someone you love in that way and how he'd like it if mummy snapped at him - so he started to scream.. i said he had till the count of three to stop his screaming and calm down - if he cant then he will go to bed withought a story - so he screamed even louder so was put to bed with no story - about 5 mins later he stopped screaming and asked for a story then,.. so i spent a few minutes explaing he has snapped at me and it wasnt a nice way to treat someone you love and that i dont snap at him and i asked him to stop his noise and if he cant then he wasnt to have a story - he understood and said sorry, but i still couldnt read him a sroty as of course he will think he gets a story no matter what he behaves like.. he understood so all good.

Im sure we will have no more aggressive talk and no more screaming as he will want his bedtime story.

Wathching the terrible floods in QLD.. i have no words, they are shocking - i just hope people realise their lives are far more important than their possesions and property and get the hell out of there to safety.

All for now, my lasagne is warming in the oven so best go see if its ready :)
