Didn't make it to Playgroup today..

Greta was so tired this morning, by 8am (nap time is usually 11.30am) but she was so tired, Miles had woken her up at 6.30am..

I gave up and put her in her cot for her nap after she had a tanty because i wouldn't go into the playroom to have my shower, then she wanted the cat to go in the playroom with her - cat wanted to snooze on my bed.  SO all got a bit on top of her as she was over tired from waking early and ended up having a tanty and banging her head on the wall in frustration.. so i popped her into her cot and she has been asleep for 5.5 hours now.. so i guess she needed it.

So we ended up missing Playgroup, which isn't so bad, it meant i got a chance to get the paints out and get Miles going on the craft project for the Fathers Day pesent - thats just drying out in the sun now, and when its dry we can get Greta involved in the sticker and glitter process!

Should be good..

Need to pop up to the shops to buy nappies when Greta wakes up - totally out of them!

Oh in other news, i got a free Pieface pie! some scoupon thing..

And the couple came to collect the pram last night but the hinge was missing off it for when it turns into a baby pram, when the baby is tiny! So they said they would go and think about if they want it or not... i said you can get them online for $9.98 and gave them the website address.
So if they dont come back to me by tomorrow i'll just re-list it.  Its like $400 so i wouldn't have minded that - it will help at the moment as we are buying air con units and have a few things to pay for at the moment..

But my own fault for not checking that it was there.

Ok thats all, need to back a cake for playgroup tomorrow, actually i made one yesterday but not sure if it will be any good by tomorrow..

A lovely few days..

I need to get some pictures ready for printing so i can put them in albums, but i will add a few pics of our lovely weekend and today.

So the 4th birthday party for Miles and his friends on Saturday, i came home and had a little afternoon nap! I got woken up at 7am by Greta with a (pretend) cup of tea from her tea set! It was Daddy's turn to get up and my lie in day but it seems Greta didn't want Mummy to sleep in so came to wake me with a cup of tea from her tea set ... oh my goodness, melted my heart <3  so of course, i had to get up then - and it was a total Mummy day!  Wouldn't let Daddy near her!

So off to the park for Miles' party with his friends, he had a ball and spent much of the time chasing all the other kids around while he pretended to be a monster and they squealed and ran away!

Then on Sunday we went to the local school Spring Fair, it was lovely, Jonathan and Greta sat on the grass and watched a band play, then she asked to go home (it was her nap time) so Jonathan took her home and left Miles and I there, and we had a cupcake, got Miles' face painted
And we did some crafts there, painted and glittering etc and choose a couple of books and little toys from the White Elephant stall..
The we strolled home.

Today.  We went to Miles' music class and then went to a friends 4th birthday party.  It was great fun, Miles played musical chairs and pass the parcel, I sat on the floor in the circle with Greta while they all played pass the parcel, but she was more interested in watching the older (4yr old) kids play than actually play herself .. she did however like the gifts that Miles won and ran off with those :)

Then home and i sat outside while the kids played on the trampoline and the rollercoaster.. Greta LOVES the rollercoaster!

So thats all the 4 yr olds parties over, now its the countdown till Greta's birthday! Im pretty sure we will just do a little tea party at home.. im thinking about having a couple of friends over or meeting at the park or something, but not sure yet.

Other than that.  I have sold the P&T pram, someone comes to pick it up tonight! so thats a few hundred in the bank - winner!
I still have Greta's - that used to be Miles' stoller to use for Greta.

And we have the meeting on Thursday for Miles' pre-school at THGS.

Playgroup tomorrow and i must get on with sorting out Jonathans Fathers day craft project - and clean the car plerghhhh!
Sold all my pregnancy books too!
I bought about 10 when i was pregnant with Miles, and ended up just liking one and reading if from cover to cover and using it as a reference, then when i had Greta i used that same one again.. so im keeping that one and getting rid of the others.

Anyway, thats about all.

A visit to the Principals office!

So i have officially signed up Miles for 2 days a week at Pre-school for next year at TGS (The Hills Grammar) which is the school he will eventually go to.

So before they will officially accept him, we all have to have an meeting with the Principal!

I'll a friend to look after Greta for the morning while we go.. Miles will pretty much be the ideal student, quiet, respectful, well mannered, likes to sit and study things - Greta on the other hand!!! Well lets just say its probably best that she not be there lol, not she's fine she is just a bit of a drama queen, and chatting quietly wont do with squealing at the top of her lungs is available!  So yeah, best get her to a friends for the morning.. goodness knows how we will go when she has to go for her interview!
Lets just say its a good thing that her older brother will already be there and they give siblings first shot at getting places so thanks to her big brother she will probably easily get a place lol. She's so funny i love to watch her...shes the total opposite of me :)

So at least we get to have a look at the grounds and everything, its only a 5 minute drive from home, its rather grand, has these big iron doors that you have to drive through and has its own pool and pony's and...well, its very grand.
Ought to be, cots a bomb! But he is worth it and i went to such a poor school, its very important to me to get the very best that i can for my kids..its still holiding me back now having gone to such a crappy school -  i want to do a uni course but have to go and do some HSC qualifications first that i never did when i was 18 - damn crappy school i went to!!
So yes, its very important that my 2 go to the best school i can find.

So thats all really.

Dropped Miles at Pre-school today, and he was fine, sat doing a puzzle when we left.

Greta currently emptying out the contents of the shoe basket !!

She's been sleeping late, which is great as she went through a phase for a couple of weeks of waking at 6.30am - yawn... think her Daddy was waking he when he left for work.

But its been after 8 that she's been waking this week - she goes to bed at 6.30pm so thats 14 hours sleeping straigh !
Then a 3 hour nap usual.. wow so she's only awake for 7 hours a day!

Yep, she's still a sleepy bum lol.

Got to make a heap of sandwhiches for Miles and his friends 4th birthday party tomorrow.. then before i know it Greta will be turning 2!!

Ok all for now. Best go put the princess to bed for her nap.

relaxing..

Before a busy weekend.

today we have done story time at the library - didn't make it last week as we met freinds at the park on Thursday and on tuesday i had the interview at the Uni so dropped the kids at a friends house so didnt make it then either so Miles has been pestering to go.

So we swapped our books over adn got a couple of DVD's too.

Then did the food shop.. yes no fun for the kids i know! so took them to the park straight after.. then home for lunch and wow Miles is putting so much food away! he had basically 2 lunches! he had his sandwhich and some strawberries, and then he asked for another sandwhich and had a little pack of tinty teddy bic with it!

So Pre-school tomorrow for the Miles and we have SParkles again for the weekend :)
then Miles and his friends 4th birthday party on Saturday, the local school is having a spring fair on Sunday so will most likely stroll over the road to see that.. then in Monday we are going to Miles' friends birthday party.

Thats about it!

Back to our usual daily activities the rest of next week.

Oh i also enrolled Miles for Pre-school for 2 days next year, he currently goes 1 day a week to a little KU centre just a 10 minute walk away.. so we want him to go 2 days next yr so though we would enroll him to go to the actual school that he will eventually go to (The Hills Grammar School).  So he is down to start there 2 days a week from next yr!  Then the next year he will start Kindy 5 days a week - 21013 when he is 5.5 yrs old.

So at least he will be in the same grounds as where he goes to school.

I've pretty much decided to start the long road to the uni course next year, so thats all exciting!

Thats about it for now.

Uni for me!!

So yesterday i left the kids at a friends house for a couple of hours..Which was great as she's the Mum of Miles' little friend, a huge 5 acre plot with a huge house on it, great to run around for the kids, great fun.. except that as well as Miles'little friend (a boy) she also has 2 older boys - so a house full of boy toys.. total nivarna for Miles, he was on cloud 9.. but for Greta - who is a rather girly girl anyway, and refuses to touch her brothers toys and only plays with dolls and dolls houses.. she was a little unhappy lets say! i really should have just taken her dolls house but never thought - usually when they go to another friends house, she has 2 girls, so totally ideal for Greta, and Miles is fine to as he's happy to play shops or something like that - so anyway, Greta ended up following the Mummy around helping with household chores lol, so cute..

So anyway, this was all because i had an interview for uni... to cut a VERY long interview process short ..i had a great long chat about my options and it was great, but went on a bit. Anyway i am really torn between Social Science (i.e social work) or Radiography... the social science thing i can just do a diploma in and get to work in 2 or 3 yrs .. so idea as im not getting any younger shall we say! the other option is the Radiology course which is a 4 yr uni course, so fine, but i would have to study for 2 yrs to get into uni in the first place! Uni of Sydney so it has an entry level of 93 % YIKES!!
Now the 2 yrs i would have to do to even get in there is a full time course - no good with 2 kids to look after.  But i can do that slowly over 5 yrs, so thats great and i can even do the social science thing along side it so in 3 yrs i am a fully qualified social worker - with an option to go on and do a degree in that too if i want - also i will be 3 yrs into the course to go to uni to do radiographyy if i so chose that option!

Lots to think about, but while the kids are young im pretty convinced that im going to start on the 5 yr road to the uni degree.. study Biology, maths, Physics and 2 others subjects yet to be decided.. that gets me on the road to Radiograhy - and then in a year or 2 - when the kids are older and start pre-shcool and school, i can start the social science diplopa thats 3 yrs.

So all very exciting, to start in Feb next yr - a couple hours a week on campus and then homework too of course.

Anyway, thats my news, got the cleaners coming this morning to best get on and also Playgroup too.

Celebration

Finally got around to celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary yesterday.

Went to Ripples at Whale beach.

Got 3 courses for $49 each! i expected to pay that just for the main course! and a free glass of wine too - so well impressed!

I ate so much though, went for a stroll along the beach after and i could hardly walk - so so full of oh so yummy food :)
Then a drive up to Palm beach but was so full couldn't get out of the car to walk lol.

a (not very nice) photo of us at Whale beach (im looking pretty bad in the pic but never mind!)\

Kids went to a friends house for the afternoon... didn't want to come home! they loved it.

Greta was in bed asleep at 6pm, she was worn out! Didnt wake till 8.20am today! so i would have got a lie in but Miles woke at 6.45am :( oh well, got a sleep in yesterday at least...J got a sleep in till Greta woke this morning then she wanted her Daddy when she got up.

No plans for today, laundry i suspect... can't complain after a great week though, Zoo trip on thursday, lunch our, child free, yesterday.

Miles and his fridnds little party on Saturday, so got to do some food for that this week - ive already bought a gift for one of his little friends.

also looking into getting a zoo pass, the kids are old enough now to really enjoy it, and its a  great workout walking up and down the hills! so will get one for Xmas for the kids.
Think its $110 for me and Miles is now over 4 so has to pay, so he will be $55, then Greta is free..

We get the Sparkles next weekend again for the weekend and again for the 2 week school holidays!
Miles is excited.. me too as i realy enjoyed looking after her, but was great to give her back at the end of the weekend!

Got a house clean coming up on Wednesday this week - paid $99 for 2 x 4hr cleans.. Scoupon!  fantastic.

Also paid the $350 deposit for our family holiday in Feb next yr.. 5 months to go and counting!!

Thats about it.. all for now.

Great day at the zoo

We ended up spending about 7 hours there! but Miles had a blast with his friends, Greta ended up loosing a frog of Miles' - but never mind, he wasn't fussed over it anymore, its just that he used to have it as a baby so i was a bit sad to loose it, but neither of the kids really cared - oh well..

I then did the weeks grocery shop on the way home!

Left the house at 8.30am and got home at 4.30pm.. my feet are THROBBING so badly now, but it was such fun.

And all for free! i got a guest pass for free, so just paid $6 parking! winner!

Weeks grocery shop was $100.09 so i was well pleased with that.

So just pre-school tomorrow, i will be sitting with my feet up all day i think!

Then a nice meal out on Saturday :)

Ok here are some pics from the zoo:

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo - how about you, you, you.....

Im sooooooooo worn out - but in a good way.

I seen to have not stopped for weeks.

I might have to have a break for some activites next week.

We do:

M: Music class
T: story time at library & playgroup - from 9am -12.30pm.
W: Playgroup 10-12.15
T: story time at the library & weekly food shop
F: Miles' Pre school day.

Which is pretty full on, but fun - but when we have extra things on too, like this week we have our anniversary so we are going out to dinner on Saturday, and then we have the zoo tomorrow for Miles' birthday as well as a party over the weekend for him too - so ive been doing trips to the shops to buy pesents for him and  it  just seem like ive not stopped lately and feel like i need a rest.

So might cry off a couple of activities next week - have a couple of days just home all day... stroll up to the park parhaps, nice lazy days.

Usually, the activities are great, they keep us ocupied and the days pass quickly - but with all this extra stuff too - im just worn out - but in a good way!

So, today was Playgroup and i drove today as it was raining.  Id baked cup cakes, so all Miles' friends sang happy birthday to him and he had a ball there :)

Then we went and paid a little of the Christmas lay-by's..

Came home and put Greta to bed and cleaned the kitchen while Miles took apart his toy plane and put it back together again..

i also put away Greta's washing, did some ironing and laid out the kids clothes till Saturday...

So tomorrow we are off to the zoo, Taronga, with Miles' friends (and Greta's too).

Friday is Miles'pre-school day.

Then on Saturday the kids are off to a friends house for the day and we are going out to Ripples at Whale Beach for lunch :) canot wait!

SO anyway thats all - Miles was a little worn out today too, he was in bed asleep for 6pm!
So i got an hour of Mummy and daughter time :0)

Have got the $400 deposit together for our holiday too in Jan next yr, so will pay that over the next day or 2, when i remembered - its not due till the 21st anyway.. but thought id get it paid as i have the money together..

Then i can pay it off bit by bit, until its all paid in full - then its just spending money to save for.. i think its $1,300 for the accomodation..but i have till Jan to pay it off - gosh how depressing! i used to have that much spare cash a month no problem ...oh the joys of living to a budget and being broke!

The kids Grandparents sent them a lovely letter, they send them every month or so, Miles loves to get them and pretends to write a letter back.. ive put them all in his keep-sake box.

Well i think thats all...

Miles' Birthday

Was great.

I was feeling so bad about him no having his family around him, aunts and uncles and grandparents etc but it turns out its more in my head than him really caring.. :)

So i put all his pressies out for him the night before and when i got up he saw them all and started to open them all.

Id forgotton about a few and my sister and J's mum and my mum had sent him some gifts.

He had some size 4 clothes - lol, he has only just gone up to a size 3! his shorts are still age 2!

But got some great pressies.

A trampoline too - from us.

So then i did him a morning tea of all his favourties foods, watermelon, strawberries and fairy bread.

I made him a dinosaur cake and he blew out the candles.

I then put Greta to bed for her nap and was then planning on taking them out to the Walkabout Wild life park up on the Central coast, but he was having such a great time playing with his toys and bouncing on his trampoline, we asked him if he wanted to go and he said no he wanted to stay and play with his new toys.. so fair enough!

I made him homemade chicken and mushroom pie for dinner, his favourite :)

He went to bed, one tired but happy little man - with Sparkles (the guinea pig we were looking after for the weekend) in her cage in his room.

Im torn between buying him a couple of guinea pigs or not - Sparkles was so easy to look after, so will see,.. We have her again at the end of Sept for the 2 week school holidays.

Anyway, a great birhtday - i have a stack of pics but we still have his birthday party in a couple of weeks and also his trip to the zoo on Thursday.

But here are a couple of pics for now.

So today we went to Mainly Music up at the local church hall i think the building is.. it was great, kids love it there.  Except Greta is a bit sick.. while she has a cold so quite sick really, conjunctivitis and coughing and runny nose with green snot, not so pretty!

Playgroup tomorrow, im sure i will be back with more pictures soon for the rest of his birthday :)

x

Great day today!

Now i know we aren't meant to have a great day on a monday! Monday-itis and all that.. even for us SAHM's - or whatever i am.

But i've had a great day with the kids.

Park, play, long snooze (for Greta).

I've also been through and sorted out Miles' craft box and his paint box too - it was a total mess so is now all neat and tidy and everything in its own box - i will do photo's another day.

Great afternoon at the park too, the pair of them were going up to the big kid slide and holding hands at the top and then sliding down side by side, (its a double slide) and OMG it was so so cute...

Then home and i cooked dinner, i was meant to do a lasagna, but i had no bechamel sauce, slack i know, i should make it myself, its so so easy to make, but i never have any parmasan in, there is only me in the house who likes it (well ive never tried Greta, im pretty sure she would, she likes most things.  Anyway, ive made it before and i couldn;t be bothered to stand there and stir it for 10 mins till i thickens so always burn the bottom of the pan, lazy hey!  So i just buy the jar, but i dont have any in the pantry and of course i have no parmasan to make any.. so i quickly changed it for the kids to make it spag bol, but i still need to go out and get a jar of bech sauce as i still want lasagna for me and jonathan.. ive done the salad to go with it already and i just really fancy it over spag bol - just means i have to drag the kids up to the shops at 5.30pm at night which isn't great as they usually have their bath then.. on well, still get them to bed at 6.30pm im sure - will just be a rush and i never got to eat my dinner with them which stinks, i like to eat at the table with them.

Anyway, just waiting for them to finish and i will pop them in the car and whip them up to the corner shop, its only a 2 min drive away so not too bad.

Ok all for now.

Greta

Just thought id do a list of words she can say and stuff she is doing.

She says so amny words i cant list them all, well over a hundred id say.

Her new one is tomorrow.. when you ask her to do something she says "no, tomorrow" or if i say do you want to go to the park she will say either "yeah" and say "shoes, car"and go get her shoes and my car keys.. or if she is busy playing she will shake her pretty litte head and say "no, tomorrow" lol.

She repeats EVERYTHING she says, she amazes me with her vocab.. Miles could speak well but she is in a diferent league altogether - but then she didnt walk till she was 20 months old - so i guess it all sort of evens out.

Also the words she says are said perfectly, i recall Miles would say something like 'discit' for biscuit, but with Greta, she pronounces it perfectly.

She went up to a lady at the vets the other day and said "oooh doggy, there she is" as the dog was hiding behind this womans legs the it came out - oh everything/one is a she - she never says he!

Sleeps for 3 hours a day for her day nap, sometimes 4 hours.  But maybe 1 or so days a week she refuses a nap, usually when her Daddy is home on the weekends and she misses him during the week so refuses to nap in the day, also cos he walks up and down in front of her room, i keep saying to him he needs to be quiet but he never does.. so it wakes her up!

She did a poo on the potty yesterday and tells me when she has poo'd, so i need to get on and try her at potty training.

LOVES Lola, from Charlie and Lola. loves bees and animals in general, but mainly bees and cats.

Loves faries and will hunt through the DVD drawer looking for a fairy DVD and also loves Hi5.

Likes to give kisses too and will climb up to kiss us :)

Loves her brother so so much, and they play so so well together.. love having them close in age - 2 yrs apart.
Miles insisted that Greta go with him to Pre-school drop off this morning, they seem to adore each other, so great.  Never really fight, if Greta wants something, even if its Teddy, then Miles will give it to her..he spoils her.

In other news, i have all Miles' gifts wrapped for his birthday, i have put up his castle and knights, just need to call at the toy shop actually a buy a couple of knights today when i pick him up from pre-shcool.

Trampoline arrived earlier today so just need to put that up tomorrow.

So all set.. i just have to bake a cake tomorrow, i baked 30 cupcakes last night for him to take to pre-school today.. with green icing!

So need to make the cake tomorrow and do some party food for him too.

i have a little gift for the hubby for tomorrow too- a card and a bottle of wine.

He made me laugh, he said this morning, so, erm, just need to check if we are celebrating our wedding anniversary tomorrow, (on the actual day) or, as its Miles' birthday the day after, and we are doing lots for him, and are going out to dinner next weekend for our anniversary instead, are we really celebrating the anniversary next week - so i said are you asking if we are exchanging cards tomorrow, cos i have a card for you for tomorrow (and a small gift too)..lol so see if i get a card or not tomorrow.   Im not fussed, im pleased we have made it to 10 yrs of marriage and im happy to sit with a nice bottle of wine tomorrow night and drink that and talk crap and plan out our future as we tend to do! and bake a dinosaur cake for Miles for the next day!

Anyway all from me, best go load the dishwasher while Greta sleeps, when she gets up i want to make a card for her brother for his birthday for him.
x

Is it me, or has the week gone really really slowly ??????

I said this to Jonathan and he said 'nope its gone quickly'!

But not to me.. i think perhaps because last week we were all sick but i had so much to do, i was run off my feel all week.

So i promised myself this week i was going to relax and not too much, which i have done, but its probably made the week drag - which isn't a bad thing, we have had a lovely week.

Monday we had music class.. then after that we stayed home, that was nice, didn't do much at all- think i may have stripped the bed and washed and dried the sheets.. also put a couple loads of washing on, but thats easy enough to do, so thats all on Monday.

Tuesday - i usually go to a Playgroup that is about 20 mins drive away, and a story time before hand but andit runs from 10am  i have to leave at 9.15ma to get a parking spot and runs till 12. 30pm so i dont get home till 1pm at best, its a big morning..as i was having a lazy week i decided not to go to that, went to another little group run by a couple of playgroup mum friends, so headed there and its literally 5 mins from home for me, runs for an hour and half and morning tea and activites are provided so that was fantastic, kids loved it.

home for 11.30am and put Greta to bed, then we had to wait in for the carpet cleaning guy who was coming to clean 2 of our 4 couches (other 2 are leather so i can do them myself).
Think i did a little more washing and ironing.

Then Wednesday, i walked up to Playgroup, dropped a toy car on my foot and have a huge golf ball sized lump that throbs on my foot!
Took Greta's little bike and walked up there with them.. its only a 10 min walk at best, we were there first so opened  up and got all the toys out the shed.
After it finished about 12, we decided to stroll over to the park on the way home and sitting there on the top of the charity bin - those bins that you put your unwated clothes in, there was this fantatic looking wooden pirate ship, a really big one.. so i thought id grab it and bring it home for Miles and Greta  - now i know that sounds bad, but i thought it was put there as it was way too big to fit in the bin, and all that would happen is it would go to a local thrift shop to be sold and, well, i wanted it for the kids and i actually donate to that charity, i also sponser a child through them too, the Smith Family it was and i sponser a little boy.. so i thought id just give a little extra when i donated money next time to them..

So i got it home, kids LOVE it, but then jonathan comes home and says, ahh but are you sure it was meant for the charity bin, perhaps it was just put there buy a mum who had a kid who was being naughty so she took it off him for 10 mins and forgot about it and left it, or perhaps someone put it there while they loaded the kids in the car and then forgot about it...

So then i felt terrible for taking it...

But really, im pretty sure it was meant just for the charity bin.  i live in an area thats really wealthy and the surrounding suberbs are too, so i cant imagine anyone would want to sell their kids old toys on e-bay or anything like that - like i do *blush* they would just dump it in the garbage or charity bin, so im pertyt sure it was that.. so i feel a bit better, and i will give more to the charity when i donate to them  - whats the difference between that and going to the thrift store and buying it anywa.. nothing right!
It was clearly left there as a 'free to good home' i thought.

Anyway so we walked home and then i thought Jonathan was coming home early, i kind of planned my day around it, did a bit more washing and stuff and had a clean of the house and expected him to be home at 5pm at the latest as he had borrowed my car and was out at Windsor for work all day, i assumed he would come straight home from there, never imagined he'd drive all the way back into the city at 5pm but he did!!

SO i rang him a little cross and yelled at him - bogan i know! then felt bad, cos the guy works such long days and i know he is really into her career so i felt bad and appologied, he's at work 6.30am - 8.30pm usually during the week - im home with the kids, thats fine i know and it works well, i just had it in my mind he would come home - but instead he drove all the way into the city at 5pm!

But bless him, he felt bad and came home early!

So got to see the kids for 15 mins before bed, and they NEVER get to see their Daddy during the week so they were so so thrilled, i have the cutest pic of Greta sat on his knee looking so loved up :)
she literalyl ran to the door yelling Daddy Daddy, so so excited :)

Pic of Greta eating her breakfast in my bed this morning while i had a shower:

Then today, story time at the library and then went to the park with a friend, and her 2 girls, that was lovely - the went out to lunch and i then headed home via the supermarket - did the weekly shop..

Came home and started on the baking of 30 cupcakes with green icing for Miles' Preshcool friends for tomorrow!

So yeah, great week but so slow..

Oh and Greta has conjunctivitis again, poor love, its ALL the time that she has it, i think i have a little, my eye is so sore -she must be so sick of it.

Oh almost forgot - she did  a poo in the potty! shes only 22 months im so proud!  She told me she wanted to poo, and i grabbed the potty and she poo'd !!! so so clever :)

Hubby is home now, so all for now.

Miles' Birthday

So back to the old guilt feelings again!

This time about Miles' birthday - im feeling so bad that he doesn't have his grandparents and aunts and uncles adn cousins around him.
Now to be fair he has never once asked for any of these people around him for his Birthday, all he has asked for is:

1. a trampolin
2. a dinosaur cake
3. a trip to the zoo
4. to see his friends and have a party

So we have planned - on his actual birthday, (sunday) to have a little tea party at home, with dinosaur cake of course! the 4 of us.
all his favourtie foods, which includes watermelon and fairy bread and ummmm....yep thats about it!
Then heading to the Walkabout wild life park on the Central Coast.

Then later that week I am taking him to the Zoo - Taronga, with a friend and her 2 little ones.. one is Miles'little friend.
Then on the weekend he is having a birthday party - a joint one with 5 friends and their little ones, all of who are turning 4 around the same time...
He will also have a cake that i make him for Playgroup and have a little celebration there as well as Pre-school.

We are getting him a trampoline and he has stacks of pressies from our family in the UK.

So i guess im just feeling guilty that he wont have our families there to spoil him - i mean he is having quite  a lot of things, a party and 2 zoo trips and this and that - its just that, i feel bad that he cant have his grandparents come over and spoil him as only grandparents can.

But then on the other hand, when they come over to visit they bring so many toys and spend so much time with them and spoil them so much, its just in a short concentrated timeframe.
I guess if grandparents were around all the time they wouldn't lavish so much attention on thier Grandkids as my kids get lavished on them as thier grandparents only see them once a year (each set comes out every 2 years, but alternate years - so works out they get one set every year).
So they do see them, and they get so spoilt, its just that they aren't here for the big things like Xmas and Birthday, and  ifeel really bad about that.
But i guess its all the kids know and Miles has never even menitoned them - so perhaps its just me... and im stressing myself and feeling bad for nothing.

i don't know.. anyway - in other news!

Some pics from our weekend trip to the beach.

Holiday booked - YIPPPEEEEEEEEEEEE

Booked a week away in Jan with the Grandparents (Jonathans Mum and her hubby) we are actually going to the exact same spot that we went with my parents in Jan this year! this could become a regualr yearly holiday, My sister and i used to go on hoilday every year with my grandmother.. i loved it, so hope the kids do too.. My parents arrive the year after so will head on holiday with them too.. kids are getting to a great age when they can play happily together and at the beach too.

Speaking of the beach, we headed up there this weekend again, kids loved it, we had a bowl of hot chips and then sat on the beach for a couple of hours, they kids just really love it.  Really looking forward to this summer, we will be at the beach A LOT!

So thats the holiday booked - we were thinking of having a little holiday before then, in Oct but i really dont think we will, i think it will just be a case of tough it out till Jan - which is a long time to go with no holiday for us!  See how we go.

We have also decided not to go for the ducted air con :(
We got 2 quotes, one came in at $10,500 the other came in at $9,500 - so i rang the 2nd guy and asked if he can pleaes reduce the cost as we just cant spend that much - he reduced it down to $8,100.. but that was a cash price only - we really wanted $6,000 but the size of the house, that just wasn't possible - so we asked about a certigy, monthly payment plan over 2 yrs, i reallt dont want to do this, i thought about it for a few mins and then said no actually forget it, i dont want to get into debt for air con, i really wanted ducted but it just wasnt to be... so i have bit the bullet and decided its going to have to be a split system, so i bought one yesterday, thats will be delivered this week, that cost $600.. then i have to pay for it fitting which will be about $400.  thats going into the family room and will cover the kitchen area too - then im going to buy a 2nd air con and put it in the master bedroom, that will a bit cheaper $400 and $400 to install it, then i just need to get one to cover our snug room and the dining/lounge room.. but that will have to wait till we can afford it.
For now we have 1 arriving this week and 1 that i will buy in a month or so - so we will have at least 2 before this summer so the house will be cool at least and of course we have the pool to keep us warm, but last year it was so hot in the house it was hard to function!
So at least we have 2 units this summer.

I arranged deivery of Miles' trampoline yesterday, so that comes on Friday, after a huge deabte with the sales lady who said it would be $60 to deliver, so i said yep thats fine so she tried to talk me into geting someone with a ute to collect it for me, i said i dont know anyone with a ute, everyone i know owns 4 wheel drives of different makes and models but no utes.. so she said well cant yoy fit it in your car, jeeps are big cars cant yoy put the seats down, so i said look i just want you to deliver it, you are k-mart you should be able to deliver i really dont want the issue messing about trying to collect it myself - honestly! they have a delivery service, i am willing to pay them for their delivery service, what is the issue!?!
So finally arranged delivery for Friday..

I also paid off a little on my Chrsitmas lay - by's, Greta has a birthday one too, she is getting a cot and a highchair for her dolls.. i've got her a couple new dolls too but they are for Christmas...

Other than that, not much news... Miles' 4th birthday on Sunday and our 10 wedding anniversary on Saturday - we also have Sparkles the guineapig coming to stay for the weekend! We are looking after him - hope our cat doesnt eat him!

Ok all for now.

Didn't manage to fit it all in

i kinda knew that i wouldn't, after it had taken me 2 hours to walk from one end of the shops to the other with the little ones yesterday, fitting so much in was pretty much a no go..

Plus, i got up at 7am and went out in the back yard to dismantle the climbing frame for the mums group lady to take for the weekend and by the time id done that and got the kids ready and got Miles to pick which books he wanted to take back to the library and which he wanted to keep for next time, it was somehow 9am!

Popped to the local shops and treated the kids to a slice of vegemite toast each and did the food shop at the butchers $33 not bad! and Aldi shop $140, then a few bits at Woolies that i couldnt get from Aldi like pasta for the lasagna and some bits for the mousaka $35 - and came out of there at 10.15 - just enough time to head to the library for story time.. i did spend more than id have liked this week - had a cheap week last week though, it was $120 all up last week so not too bad this week.. try for a cheap week next week.
Did get some nice rump steak though and a couple of lamb cutlets for Greta.

SO headed home and put the shopping away, put a picnic blanket and books and the lunch out in the back yard for the kids and they sat there and ate their lunch..

Greta is down for her nap.

Depending on what time the lady comes to collect the toys, i might be able to head to pay for Miles' trampoline this arvo, see how the time goes.. if not i can go when the kids are in bed tonight - im just still suffering with this cold though - such a gorgeous day though, its making me feel less sick than i am :)

Some pics of the picnic in the back yar - cannot wait to tear that pool cover off adn go for a dip! Only a month to 6 weeks to go! i was in there in September last year!

Managed to get everything done today..

I woke up this morning with cold symptoms, feeling a teeny bit better than yesterday but still clearly got a cold.. bunged up, losing my voice, sore throat, tight chest, burning up..

SO i was thinking damn im never gonna get through everyting i need to do today, however i did.

Baked a cake for Playgroup - carrot with cream cheese frosting.

headed to playgroup for a couple of hours.. Kids played so well, i actually popped over the street for a carton of milk as i forgot to take any for the mums tea and coffee - i dont take milk so never think to bring it.  Anyway i left the kids at the playgroup with the other mums and while i knew Greta would be fine, i was worried Miles would stress with me gone for 5 mins, however i got back and he was fine.. eating his morning tea - i wouldnt have left him if Greta weren't there as i knew he wouldn't have stayed on his own - although i would have left Greta, she would have been totally fine.

Then we jumped in the car and headed to drop the car off for its service, they said they had it booked in between 12-5pm !! i said erm no, 12 - 2pm, i have 2 little children with me, how am i meant to entertain them for 5 hours! Plus Greta needs to nap and i cant get  home, its too far to walk and i cant call a cab as im pretty sure most cabs wont have 2 car seats.. so anyway there were fantastic and said they would do it in the 2 hours.

SO anyway i headed over the road as there is a play centre i was planning on taking the kids to - but wanted to walk to the other end of the shops first to pay some money off the Christmas lay by at the toy shop... so i didnt have a pram for Greta so she walked and held my hand all the way (so so cute). We got to store and wondered around a little looking at the toys while we got to the lay-by counter, i paid some money..

Then we walked out and Miles saw a book store opposite he wanted to look in - it used to be Angus & Robertson but had closed down a few weeks back - it has now opened up as Dymocks, we went in and they had great kids books for $5..Miles chose a big thick book with various short stories in.. its a gorgeous book, i read him a couple at bed time tonight..

So we left there and headed back over to the other end of the centre, with Greta walking and holding my hand again, planned on going to the play centre, its right next to the lift we needed to get in that takes us down to the garage to collect our car - anyway by the time we get there its 1.45 mins later OMG! we had only been to 2 shops! and i was worried about killing the time till the car was ready.. its amazing how fast time passes when you let your little one walk, she isnt the fastest of walkers and likes to stop and chat to people who always seem to stop and comment how cute she is, and she stops to look in windows at displays, as does Miles - so couldn't go to the play centre - poor Miles, funny thing is though i used to take him there with Mums group and he hated the place.. now he was so keen to go.. bless him.

So went and got the car, they had done a brake fluid change, filter change, etc etc.. so $401 in total - expected more so all good.

then the manager wanted to just take it for a quick spin around the block to check the brakes were ok, Greta sees him drive away in our car and yells "Man, No, Mummy car, Maaaaaan, Mummy car"and bursts into tears. :( poor princess she thought he had taken her mummy's car - so i had to cuddle her and explain he will be back, only gone 2.5 mins anyway so not too bad.

Anyway a great garage, i will take the car there again, we usually go to the Jeep dealer in Chatswood and they charge double and their customer service is shocking..

So got home at 3 pm and put Greta down for her nap - had a parcel card from the post office that had been delivered while we were out - so woke Greta at 4.30pm and went to get that - i hate to wake her, but since she had gone to bed 3 hours after her usual nap time, i realyl didn't want her napping so late..

Anyway it was Miles' birthday pressie, so brought that home, stuck the dinner on - homemade burgers and went outside with the kids to dismantle all the play equipment in the back yard, climb frame, cubby house, roller coaster, 2 little cars.. slide and some other bits and bobs - a play group mum is collecting it tomorrow for a couple of days.. then i get to put it all back up again when she brings it back!
Miles helped me carry it all over and stand it up against the pool fence so she can collect it tomorrow.

So now tomorrow is again going to be a crazy day - well from 12pm it will be fine but in the morning i have to do the food shop, go to story time at the library - thats 10.30-11am thats set in stone, and go up to a k-mart 25 mins away to pay for and arrange delivery of Miles' trampoline for his birthday next week - all that has to be done before 12pm .. as the playgroup lady is coming at 12.

oooh hubby is home, he has to call hsi works UK office so id best stopped typing so i don't bother him.

All for now.

So much to do.... feel so crappy :(

I have Playgroup this morning and i really wouldn't bother going but im on mums morning tea duty, so i guess i have to go - i have baked a carrot cake to take.

i cleaned the kitchen this morning, put Bee Movie on for the kids and cleaned the kitchen, it was a mess from yesterday - we all have a cold so Jonathan took the morning off and we all just sat around like couch potatoes as we are all ill... Ordered take away (just for the 2 of us i got a meal i had previously cooked and frozen out of the freezer for the kids).

We pretty much never have takeaway so it made a nice change..

Then Jonathan went to work for a meeting about 1pm.. so i let the kids play outside and sat and watched them.

Still feel crappy today, but cant really get out of playgroup, and then i have to take the car to be serviced, so got to hang around for an hour or 2 till its ready.. with the kids - there is a play centre there so i might take them there and sit and try and rest..

I really need to go and pay the balance off Miles' trampoline, but i really dont think i have the energy after all that.

I also need to do the weekly shop - im worn out thinking about it!

Least i will get Friday off as Miles will be at Pre-School.  So just Greta  home..

Just got to get through this list of things i need to do before them.

also need to vacuum and dust the house and steam mop the kitchen floor oh and iron the pile of washing and put more on - oh gosh, too much!

In other news, we have decided to go on a holiday in Jan next year - we were planning on going in October but if we hang on till Jan then we can go with j's Mum and her hubby when they come over.  The kids will love a holiday with thier grandparents.

Nowhere exciting just down sout to Pambula, which is where we went with my paretns in Feb this year.

Ok all for now, best get on and get to Playgroup.

Tax return

Arrived today, centrelink took a couple grand than we owed,  fair enough, so Jonathan ended up with $7,500.

SO we need to get ducted air con with that - got a couple of quotes.  hope to get that for $6,000 - 8,000.

Then also getting my Jeep serviced as its a couple months over due, i like to make sure its serviced and up to date but been a bit tight moneywise.
