Jonathan is staying home - not sure how i will go without  him.. we're not usually seperated for long, usually just 2 nights for his work at most.. so not looking forward to that but it'll be nice to spend some time with my parents and for the kids to be with them too.

Ok well best get on.  Think everyything is packed up though.. just waiting on them arriving and Greta waking so we can get off!

Work ...

My boss just called me into the office to tell me everyone likes me, I get on well with everyone, my works good and he's happy with me - winner, put a little sting in my step :) nice to go on on leave and on our holiday on that positive note :)

Oh I went to the loo just now and found 2 more grey hairs in the mirror :) what the... I'm not muddle aged yet - I have another 2 yrs to go yet!!
Feeling old :(

Actually a girl I went to school with just announced she is pregnant, having a little girl (aww) so I congratulated her and she says she feels old as she has a teenage son - so I said I can't imagine having a teenage son in my 30's!! Your 20's are all about going out and having fun and finding out who you are, travelling and partying not settling down and having kids! You're 30's are for kids when you're more mature and have done the travel and partying etc... So I think she feels better now.
I don't know anyone irl who has kids in their 20's ... Well except my sister but that's even more reason to wait!

Gawd if my kids had kids before they hit 30 I'd throttle the pair of them!!! I DO N OT way to be a Grandma before 70 thank you! Go get a cater - se the world.. Party... Travel somemore don't settle down with kids. I reckon I'm so much more a better mum now as im totally ready for it now sort of thing... Anyway I'm waffling but I just couldn't believe what my school friend said!

Anyway, grey hairs arghhhhh!!!

The parents are here!!!a

And the kids love them.. Greta kept into my mums arms 5 mins after she saw her. Miles is chattering onto them.
They were quite tired but managed to last the day.

They're heading into the city today for a stroll then we are heading off tomorrow to Canberra and then down the Bermagui. Jonathan just has to collect Miles' soccer net and croquet set from ELC.

Dropped the kids at their nanny's house this morning. Miles was very excited... But most confused that I had a new handbag (even though he was with me when I bought it) kept asking where my brown handbag was.. I now have a black bag and a brown purse where before I had a brown bag and black purse - Miles is not impressed lol.

Greta is a little sweetheart. My parents can't get over how much she eats yet how petite she is lol. Everyone says she's like a little doll with her long hair and big blue eyes. But man can she squeal - she is so so loud and has a killer attitude - I wouldn't mess with her lol she's very feisty.. Adore her.

So re the interview. It's odd as I was sought out for the role, so I'm hearing about it 2nd and 3rd hand from Jobathans boss who knows one of the guys on the interview panel - it's a bit odd, but word is I did good in my interview and I'm front runner :) however they are interviewing the queen of trainers today but she wants like $250 where I will take half that. So see what their budget is I guess!

Erm what else... Oh Jonathan 'may' be up for the directors role so that'll be great. He's currently the manager and has, um I dunno, 8 or do teams under him who all have 8 or so members of staff. See how that goes.

So things are looking up.

Ok best get on with it :$

Cooked a huge lasagna last night so no cooking for me tonight :$

Interview tomorrow..

Yesterday actually went better than i thought - i was so miserable when i firt got here, but i think i am just overreacting for a couple of reasons - but turned out to not be too bac.

Anyway just 47.5 hours till my parents arrive :)

Kids are with their Nanny today so are pleased about that.

Good weekend, went to the beach at Chinamans (Mosman) and it rained! So drove round to Clifton Gardens and it stopped by the time we got there.  Sat on the beach and had an icecream then the kids played on the sand - they both love the beach and ocean..  Stopped and the park then home for a home made chicken and sweetcorn pie :)
I made the filling and Jonathan made the pastry - he is the pastry king! Then made an apple sponge cake (Mother - in - laws recipe) and Greta LOVED it.

Then Skyped the kids Grandparents and Miles had a chat to them and Greta sat there and waved and said 'hi'  and blew kisses, so so cute.  She is becoming obsessed with her Lola doll its so cute.  She hunts the house for it and calls her 'yoya' .  She blows her kisses and sats Mwah all the time - so so adorable.

Skyped the Grandparents again last night and thats pretty much it for this week.. got so much to do before the parents arrive:

Clean the 3 bathrooms
Clean the car
Move Greta's car seat over to make room in the back for my Mum
Food shop
Pop to ELC and buy a couple of outdoor play things like a croquet set for our trip next week
Playgroup
Interview
Vacuum the house
Mop the kitchen and playroom/family room
Sort washing and ironing mountain
Pack suitcases for holiday and load up car
Make lasagna for all of us on Thursday night
Attend Zone meeting for Playgroup - tomorrow night at the local pub...

Wow, so much!

Then collect parents from Airport- i have all this to do before 8.30am on Thursday and im working all day today - how the heck am i going to do all that!!

Thats about it really..

Interview

Have an interveiw for the job i was chased for on Wednesday next week :)

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Its official...

...Miles is the smallest 3.5yr old on the face of the earth!

Ok so i know he isnt - but a neighbours son who is 3 next month has ALWAYS been shorter than him, stockier yes but shorter... then today  see him and there are playing next to each other and OMG he towers above Miles now! When the heck did that happen!  SO its official - in our cirlce of friends (including girls) Miles is officially the smallest - and by far the skiniest too.  Oh well, guess he will just be a pocket rocket.  Least he is light to carry around lol.

Think Greta will be the same way, she is quite light and thats with her not yet walking, imagine she will burn much more off when she is walking and will be even slimmer.. so wish i had my 2 kids petitie gene - they must get it from jonathans side of the family, both his neice and nephew are very slender and short.  So is his Brother too - its jut J that is chubby as i fattened him up!

Well its 6.15pm... have done the dinner and bathtime thing, just waiting on 6.30pm for bed time :)

Greta is a joy at the moment, she plays so so well with Miles and a lovely little girl who is about 6 months older than her, at Playgorup, they play so so lovely together - she is so good at sharing and will hand toys back and forwards.. so gentle, i love to watch her play with others she's so good with other kids -even the big ones who want to come and try and pick her up and cuddle her, she plays so well with them.  But man does she have an attitude!! if she wants something or doesnt want to do something she will certainly let it be knows lol - fiesty little miss.

Made crumbed chops and carrots peas and rost spuds for the first time tonight - well the crumbed chops were the first i mean.  Worked out a treat but took 10 mins longer to cook than expected as i had to do the crumbing and Greta decided the best thing to do to get Mummy to hurry up would be to scream blue murder from her high chair for the entire time i was making them - hmmm... thanks for that little miss!

i always say i think its really important that i eat with the kids, but man was i stuffed and really had to force it down! i had M.Tea at Playgorup today - then i baked so had to test everything i make of course! By the time dinner arrived i was so full - but i ate it and it was so nice.

Ok well 5 mins till 6.30pm - bed time :)

Headhunted - me!!!

Whoda thought it!

But its true.

Its more like something that happens to Jonathan  - well it does, all the time....

But nope, this time its me! So the story is that the system i used in my last top - i worked there for 5 years and became pretty good with it - SAP. Anywayi became the go to person who knew the system inside out - as well as doing my own job (procurement) i also helped people use this system and wrote training docs on it - not part of my job, but i new the system better than anyone.

Anyway, of course ive taken this new job and was plodding along quite happily, when out of the blue some guy contacts me and says he hears i am pretty good with SAP....

So anyway, long story short - he is the head of IT for a large company and is SAP techincal expert and is trying to introduce it accross the company he works for and wants to emply a trainer - who he has already emplyed for 3 days a week and also another person who can be the one to one trainer and office 'go to' person... and had heard that i was good with SAP and hand hunted me down!!! So i called him and had a little chat and told him i only want to work 2 days a week reall (currently doing 3 days but finding it too much so want to drop to 2 days if i move jobs).. anyway he said he will think about it and think about getting me in for an interview and see what happens i guess - perhaps nothing but still, nice to be head hunted!  And i kinda like the fact id get to work with SAP again - currently using Unibis which is similar but not SAP.

In other news.....

Playgroup was great.  One of the other little girls has taken a shine to Greta, she is about a year older than her but they play beautifully together, playing with the dolls and prams - so so cute.

Greta certaily isn't a baby anymore thats for sure :(

Miles and Greta play so lovely together now:

And one of Miles, just cos he's a stunner!

last few days update and list for this week..

Not been in for a few days - been so so hot here, we have no air con, think i mentioned that before.. so i think for 3 nights i averaged 3 or 4 hours sleep most nights and also Miles has been up and down with the heat in and out of our bedrom, ours is the only room that has a ceiling fan - although all it does is push round the red hot heat... just no relief from it.  I was in and out of the shower with Miles.

This is a pic of Greta, she was awake but spent most of the day like this on my bed... refusing to move, fery lathargic :(
Greta has been quite sick - i left work early on thursday as she had a raging temp (39 degrees) and has not been herself, just laying on my bed and so so lathargic.  She started with a rash around her nappy area and it moved up to her face.  i thought it might be gone by today but its moved to her hands and arms and is still on her face... so off to the Dr's we go this afternoon.

Been watching the dreadfull fires on the news - just got over the flood in QLD then Yasi in FNQ - then the floods in VIC now the fires in WA!  Im feeling very very lucky in NSW... so sad for those losing their homes.

Other than trying to stay cool and spending all our time in the pool and of course Greta being sick  - we havent really done much else.

Oh ive got on with the pay it forward - will most a re pics soon but dont want to post them untill ive sent all the gifts out incase someone logs in here and sees what im sending them - although its not that great, but still its a great idea - the pay it forward idea..

10 days till my partents arrive from Enlgand - although they fly out on Saturday this week :) Miles is VERY excited to see them and i cant wait to go on a holiday with them.

Was meant to be going to meet the EB09 Mums with Greta btu she is too sick to go and i dont want to pass on whatever she has to the other kids - and most of the other mums had sick kids or appointments its been postponed, which is good as i really didnt want to have to miss it.. love our monthly catch ups.

SO Miles had music class today - he loved it. sang and danced and played the drum :) went and bought him some stickers afterwards for being such a start :)
Oh there was a new boy there and  i have no words to describe how big this kid was ! the music class teacher had to double check that he really is 3yrs old .. he was twice the size of Miles, no kidding! I know Miles is small but OMG he was a big kid!  There is a part of the class where she plays calssical music and they all have to jump around and honeslty when he jumped near me i crouched out of the way, he'd hurt if he fell on you! All the kdis jump around and have a ball and knock into each other and its great fun but the teacher was having a heart attack in case this new boy jumped near Miles, he would have really hurt him if he fell on him!  He is the smallest in the group, not age wise but size wise, but it doesnt look too bad next to the other kids - well they are all girls in the class so they are quite petite anyway, so just look a little bit bigger than Miles, but honestly this boy was scary he was so big! His Mum was actually unable to pick him up - i carry Miles all over the place he is so light.. Felt sorry for him, he had trouble doing lots of the dances as he couldn't get up ad down as easily as the other kids - he is overweight as well as very tall and wide.. poor kids, hes going to have trouble in future i can see it.. even now the teacher was struggling with him.

Sold my old iPhone - for $287 !!!!! almost fell over - you can get a braqnd new reconditioned one for $299 - thought id get $150 at most and was thinking it wouldnt sell at all at one stage when no one bid on it for the first 5 days but it went mad at the end.

Done some baking with Miles.  MIL sent me her old cook book and its got all the old favouties from when Jonathan was a kid so he's had be baking up a storm.
s
Went to Ikea yesterday morning to escape the heat before the lovely cold change came along :) Slept so well last night for the first time in over a week :)
