Took the kids into the city yesterday, wanted to take them the maritime museum.. we had such a great time there last time and i wanted to take them back.
So i thought we would make a day of it - we usually just drive into the city, which is like a 40 min drive away with no traffic, and park in Jonathans building as he has a car parking space.. but wanted to make a day of it so we drove up to the train station and got the train into the city.
A pic of the kids on the train:
They were so goo, they both sat there all the way in and all the way back home.
So then we walked down to the museum and they had a craft room, they both loved that - one of the workers read all the kids there a story.. we looked at the boats, i was trying to show Miles all the old boats that they used to come over here in the first fleet and all the kids that came over - Miles was more interested in the new speed boats and the chopper lol never mind... a couple of pics in the museum.
Definitely going to go there again, it onlty cost $7 for the 3 of us.. so with that and $6.40 for a return train ticket - bargain day! we took a picnic for the day too for the 3 of us so didn't spend anything really.
Then we hopped on the catamaran and went over to Circular Quay - yes i have photos!
We had a stroll around the harbour and took some pics - showed the kids the Opera House and the bridge - Miles is fascinated by the bridge at the moment..
Then we went up to Jonathans building - Miles was very excited to go see Daddy at work - Greta was super excited too.. she's usually in bed when he comes home from work, so she doesn't get to see him too much during the week - she ran to him squealling 'Daddy, Daddy' So he took them both upstairs to see his desk and his work mates.
Then we went back on the train and home!
Got home about 4pm and i quickly popped into aldi and did the weeks food shop, got him abotu 4.45pm and just enough time to get the kids dinner - we had boiled eggs and soldiers, before they got cross that it was passed their dinner time!
So a great day and Miles is already asking when we can go again :)
Today
Just headed up to Playgroup today.. Greta is so outgoing, she will happily play with anyone, i love watching her play :)
Got Miles' hair cut.
also got a couple more parcels for the kids, clothes and magazines for them. From Their Grandma in the UK.
I have booked in the babysitter for our 10th wedding anniversary too next month - just got to decide where to go.. I was thinking of a nice restaurant overlooking the water in Mosman, Jonathan was thinking Terrgal - i didnt want to go that far. Id like to head into the city to one of the restaurants around the harbour there - ARIA or something but Jonathan works in the city so i guess thats not very interesting for him - will get him to agree on somewhere they i can book it in anyway.
Erm.. think thats about all really..
Oh i have a company coming tomorrow to quote on ducted air con.. cannot go another summer without aircon! too hot for my pomme genes lol.
Oh and Jonathan is trying to get a new PA. He brought a couple of resumes for me to look over and i said yep definitely this one - he said hmm not i quite like this other one, i said no no i wouldnt go with her and told him why.. he disagreed - anyway he intervied them both yesterday morning and came home and and said hmm you were right, i prefer the one you liked and didnt like the other one for all the reasons you said!! Erm well yes i did used to do thta for a living!
ok thats really all i have for now.
